Building trust boosts conversions while increasing authority allows you to command higher prices.

As a trusted authority, you’ll attract more new business and strengthen relationships with existing customers, leading to higher lifetime value.

5 Website Trust Factors

Trust is the most important part of your relationship with your customers and those looking to do business with you.

When someone researches your business online, are you making it easy for potential customers to trust you?

The first point of trust is on your website.

Giving people a great first impression of your business with your website helps you to stand out from your competition.

Unless you offer the most unique product or service in the world, there will be many other businesses that offer something similar.

So why should someone trust your business over another? 

That’s the question you need to answer to encourage potential customers to make a purchasing decision.

Here are some trust factors to consider for your website to help you stand out and win new business over your competitors:

  • Design – Your website should have a professional design that reflects the products or services that you’re selling. An outdated website is an easy way for a potential customer to lose trust in your business.
  • Usability – Is your website easy to navigate? A visitor should be able to access important information on your site within a few clicks. Make sure your website is easy to use and help your visitors to learn more about your products or services.
  • Messaging – The message you share through your content should be consistent with your branding and the images or video you use on your website. Great messaging will help a visitor to feel like they’re in the right place to get the help that they need.
  • Authority – The easiest way to show authority is to share reviews and testimonials from real customers and clients. This is known as social proof. Ensure you show a potential customer that you’ve previously helped people like them.
  • Transparency – To reduce the perceived risk in your prospect’s mind, be transparent about what it looks like to work with you. You can do this by sharing a simple overview of your process. Take a few minutes to think about the five different types of trust factors above for your business.
