4 Ways to Get More Leads from LinkedIn

How to get More Leads from LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a subtle, but powerful, lead-generation tool. Used wisely, it will bring in customers in droves, and lead to greater success for your business. Its stats say it all: LinkedIn is a major part of content strategy for 94% of Business-to-Business marketers, and it’s rated as the most effective social media platform by 66% of them. With 3,700,000 Australian users, your company’s LinkedIn profile is being viewed by quite a lot of your targeted audience. Here are a few tips to help get those leads flowing:

1. Have a GREAT profile
-A picture is worth much more than words. Your image should be one of trustworthiness, professionalism, and intelligence. That won’t happen if you throw up that selfie you took last year at the carnival. Take the time (and a few bucks) to hire a professional photographer.
-Tell your potential customers what you will do for them…in your tagline. If you’re a copywriter, don’t just enter “Copywriter” in your tagline – use the space to sell your expertise. “Copywriter with Proven Results” or “Wordsmith who Translates Business Objectives to Sales Conversions”. Do some research, view taglines others in your industry are using, and create your own unique attention-grabber. The same goes for your summery – just make sure it’s more than ten words.
–Get a custom profile url. It doesn’t cost anything, and much more professional than linkedin.com.au/user147325.

2. Be active in LinkedIn groups
Do you know that these exist? Many business professionals don’t, to their detriment. LinkedIn Groups are a fantastic way to gain more connections and broaden your exposure. The more connections you have, the more likely you are to gain even more of them#3. That’s because people are more willing to trust you if someone they already trust, knows you.

3. Make it a Blog
LinkedIn has a handy tool for publishing content called Pulse. Why should you use it, you ask? Because it increases your visibility, marks you as someone knowledgeable, and will help increase your leads. If you haven’t already, use Hoot Suite to manage postings across all of your social media accounts.

4. Optimise your LinkedIn page
When compared to the powerhouse that is Pulse, the Company page seems almost superfluous. It’s still essential that it be complete, relevant to your audience, and up-to-date. Showcase your most valuable content up in the banner section, make sure your information is up-to-date, check all of your links, and stay active in general.

Unlike other social media platforms that are an amalgamation of personal, quasi-professional, and professional members, LinkedIn is specifically geared towards the savvy business professional. Use the tips we’ve given you here, and utilise that incredible medium for the benefit of your company… and your bottom line.
