If you’re not reviewing competitor marketing regularly, you’re missing one of the fastest ways to improve your own results.

Here’s a simple 5 step framework you can use to review your competitors in less than 10 minutes:

1. Choose your primary service

Start with the service or product that matters most to your revenue.

2. Identify your real online competitors

Search Google as your customer would. Ignore the biggest brands if they don’t compete locally or realistically.

3. Review the homepage

Ask:

  • Is it immediately clear what they do?
  • Who’s it for?
  • What’s the primary call to action?
  • What trust signals are visible?

4. Review the service or product page

Look for:

  • Clear pricing or delivery information
  • Trust signals
  • Objections handled well
  • Simple checkout or enquiry paths

5. List the top five things they do well

Note down the best ideas worth learning from and that could make a big change to your own marketing.

Then work with your digital marketing team to put those on your action plan.
