Google is testing a new “AI mode” in the U.S. and it’s changing how people see search results.
It’s only a matter of time before AI mode comes to Australia, so now’s the time to make sure your business is Google optimised and ready.
According to a new study by SE Ranking, although AI-generated answers differ widely across search sessions, there’s one pattern that’s clear:
Google Business Profiles show up often in Google’s AI mode, especially for local and service-based queries.
So if you want your business to show up in Google’s AI answers, one of the best places to start is your Google Business Profile.
In this study, 9.2% of AI Mode responses included business listings, and nearly all of them (97.9%) pointed to Google Maps.
That’s a big opportunity for visibility if your map listing is up to scratch.
Here’s how to improve your Google Business Profile for AI results:
Think of your profile as your mini-website in Google search.
It’s often the first impression people see, and AI tools favour it too.
