The True Cost of Using Inexpensive WordPress Designers

You may think that you’ve found the dream candidate for building your WordPress site. You’ve found the unicorn, one of the few WordPress designers who is willing to design your site from scratch while charging you a very low price.

However, before you hire that person you found on a freelancer’s forum charging pennies for their services, remember that some things are too good to be true. Quality WordPress designers cost more but provide far more effective service.

Not all WordPress designers who undercharge are bad workers, some are just inexperienced and don’t know how to charge what they are worth. However, there are hidden costs when it comes to working with a less experienced, less careful designer who does not stand by their work enough to charge for it.

A Frustrating Work Process

According to the old saying, “time is money,” your time and your designer’s price is important, which is why you want to make the site-building process as smooth as possible. However, inexperienced WordPress designers often take longer to complete their site, leaving you in limbo for weeks or months without a viable website—and with no way of reaching your customers.

A less expensive WordPress designer will probably be less professional than one with the experience to back up a higher price for their services. Not only will this mean that the final product will be worse, but it could also mean that you will have a harder time working together. You don’t want your project to get bogged down by communication issues, ego tussles, and random disappearances, so it is better to choose a designer you can rely on.

Poor Quality Product

A less expensive WordPress designer has less incentive to deliver a quality site. That could cause problems for you that go beyond aesthetics and shoddy graphic design. Much of WordPress design revolves around functionality, and an inexperienced site designer could accidentally create bugs or development issues.

These issues in turn could cost you business. Customers who have trouble loading your site are more likely to turn to a competitor. Google’s SEO criteria also value functionality and back-end development. If your site has many bugs, Google will rank it lower, meaning that many customers will never even be able to find you.

If you pay a less expensive WordPress developer who delivers a bad site, in the end, you will pay double because you will need to pay for another developer to fix the first one’s mistakes. By contrast, quality WordPress developers take pride in their work and will deliver a site that looks good and functions properly. A little initial expense will save you plenty of money and stress down the line.

Quality Over Convenience

It is easy to get taken in by sites that promise an amazing WordPress for a fraction of the price that quality WordPress developers charge. However, most inexpensive developers deliver shoddy products that are aesthetically unappealing and do not function properly due to their many bugs. They also have a lower degree of professionalism, making the communication and work process more difficult. Turn to a quality designer from the get-go for a site that meets your expectations.
