Periodic Website Maintenance: What Do We Do?

Regular website maintenance is something that many businesses fail to do, but maintaining your website is just as important as building it. That’s because search engines and the people who use them are constantly evolving, so your website should, too.

At Seriously Good Design, we understand the importance of periodic website maintenance better than anyone. We’ve seen too many amazing sites fail, simply because they haven’t been properly maintained after going live.

The easy way to avoid this is to invest in a maintenance plan that ensures your site will be looked after and cared for. SGD currently offers 3 different plans to meet a variety of needs and budgets that include services like premium website hosting, content updates, and more.

Want to know more about what we can do for you when it comes to maintaining your website? Keep reading to learn more about the plans we offer to find one that works for you.

What Does Website Maintenance Entail?

Before covering our different support options, it’s important to have at least a basic understanding of what a maintenance plan should look like. Many people assume that it’s just about keeping the site secure, while others believe it has to do with publishing new content on the reg.

In actuality, both of these things are essential for maintaining your site, but that’s not all. Here are a few more tasks and tools that are required for successful maintenance:

  • Premium Website Hosting
  • Software/Plug-In Updates
  • Off-Site Backups
  • Design Updates
  • SEO
  • Device Compatibility Checks
  • Uptime Monitoring
  • Website Performance Reports
  • Website Strategising

As you can see, there’s a lot that goes into maintaining a website. Even with a flawless design and kicka$$ domain, you can’t expect your site to succeed without putting in some work to maintain it.

The good news is that you don’t have to go it alone.

Breakdown of SGD’s Website Maintenance Plans

When it comes to website maintenance, one thing that has become clear is that there’s no single plan that works for everyone. Each website is unique in what it delivers and how it functions, so your maintenance strategy might – and probably will – look different from someone else’s.

That being said, there are certain tasks that should be included in every maintenance plan, like staying on top of site security, software updates, and backups. Each of the SGD support options includes all the essential aspects of site maintenance, but we provide 3 different plans to cater to different needs.

Here’s a breakdown of each tier of our maintenance and support services:

Support Plan 1

The first level of support we offer is ideal for more basic sites without lots of intricate components.

In addition to 1 hour of site support each month, this plan includes premium website hosting, security, software updates, uptime monitoring, daily backups, access to our training portal, and monthly site performance reports.

This plan includes all the essentials for maintaining a site, and it can be accessed for $150/month.

Support Plan 2

The second option is ideal for sites that are slightly more advanced and therefore need a bit more attention.

Support Plan 2 includes everything from Plan 1, but instead of just 1 hour of support each month, we provide 2 hours of site support. More additions include access to SEO tools as well as performance optimisation.

Although the pricing goes up from $100 to $180/month, many website owners feel that implementing SEO is well worth it.

Support Plan 3

Last but certainly not least is Support Plan 3, which is the most advanced level of support for website owners.

Instead of 1 or 2 hours of support each month, this plan includes 4 hours of support as well as a monthly strategy session. In this strategy session, this is the time to put our heads together and determine ways to make improvements.

Conclusion

The main takeaway here is that the best, most successful websites go through consistent changes and improvements. Publishing new content, upgrading site security, and performing software updates are just a few important tasks to include in a well-rounded maintenance plan.

If you’re thinking to yourself that paying for website maintenance is an unnecessary cost, think again. By investing in site support and maintenance, you’re much more likely to generate leads and repeat customers, which will in turn keep your business running.
